To send press packages, event invitations or products for review consideration, please note the following…
I reserve the right to determine what is included on my site, and in what manner. I cannot guarantee favourable coverage, although I am always honest and, I hope, fair.
I hate viral marketing. PR companies running viral-style campaigns who contact me with fake compliments and vague invitations to “exclusive food blogger events” will be viewed sceptically and most likely mocked. (No… really.)
Information is always preferred in the simplest and plainest format available – whenever possible please use email over snail mail, and plain text over attachments; please don’t make me open a bunch of pdf files to tell me something that could have been typed into an email in plain text.
Please be sure your press releases contain all the pertinent information necessary. Event invitations that do not include basic info like time, date and location will be presumed to be from viral marketing companies and will be ignored or possibly mocked. (And I’m not joking about the mockery.)
I work alone from a home office and am not always here. Once you have my mailing address, you must still contact/inform me about ALL potential deliveries – first, because I may not be able to cover what you’re sending me, and second, because if you don’t let me know to expect a delivery, I may not be here to receive it and it may end up being returned or stolen.
PR Companies – before contacting me, please read my PR/Communications Manifesto.
